THANK YOU for a
Successful Whisker Walk Event!!!
A big thanks, slobber, lick, and drool from all our Shelter staff
and residents!
Despite the 95
degree heat and blazing sun, the 1st Annual Whisker Walk was a
scorching success! Thousands of
people and their dogs enjoyed the event at the Lancaster
Fairgrounds to benefit our Shelter, programs, and pets! The
Walk itself raised just over $10,000 and our silent auction/raffle
brought in a couple thousand more!
During the event, the staff members met over 100 Alumni and made
several matches from the same litters, several of whom missed each
other by only 30 minutes. The Virginia dogs w eren’t fazed by the
heat, and everyone was beautifully groomed, well-behaved, and
obviously part of their family.
Over 100 other shelters, rescues, pet related vendors and assorted
pet product representatives were there representing their
organizations! Amazing demos by our Blue Dog Frisbee Friends and
the Weston Flyball club were exciting and NOT-TO-BE-MISSed events!
An extra big slobber
goes out to:
-
Gibson Kennels of Grafton, Mass for being
the TOP Fundraising Pack! They raised $530 and walked with SIX of their staff! Click here to learn more about Gibson Kennels.
Gibson Kennels is run by Bob and
Melanie Gibson.
-
Sean McDonald was our TOP FUNDRAISER UNDER 14 years old and he
walked with his dog (adopted from our Shelter) Anna!! Sean raised $353!
-
Allison Elliott was our TOP FUNDRAISING INDIVIDUAL
and raised $2,975 for our Shelter pets!
