Whisker Walk Rules and
Regulations
- All pets must be kept under your
direct control, at all times. If your dog begins to rough house,
bully or become uncontrollable please left the festival
immediately. You are responsible for any and all actions of your
pet. The Whisker Walk organizers claim NO RESPONSIBILITY for any
pet/s behavior. Enter at your own risk.
- Always clean up after your dog!
Always, always scoop the poop right away! It's easy to forget, and
all eyes will be on you! This is the single most important thing
owners can do to insure the ongoing success of Whisker Walk. You
can even “deposit” your “deposit” in one of our trash barrels and
receive a raffle ticket with the opportunity to win a great prize!
Poop bag raffle 2010!!!
- All dogs must be on-leash and
under your immediate control. NO retractable leashes…they will
tangle. Before entering make sure your dogs collar is tight and
will not slip over his head! We recommend choke collars,
Martingale collars or harnesses. We do NOT want loose dogs!!!
- Ask the owner's permission to
approach a dog before befriending it and Use caution when
permitting curious dogs to greet yours, both within and outside
the festival.
- Do not bring dogs with known
aggressive tendencies into the festival. You are risking harm to
others and creating a potential liability for yourself. Supervise
your dog closely at all times to help prevent aggression and other
inappropriate behavior.
- Mounting can initiate a
potentially harmful situation. The owner of any dog displaying
mounting behavior must immediately remove the dog from the
situation.
- Injury: If your dog inflicts an
injury, give your name and phone number to the other owner before
leaving the area. Owners are legally and financially responsible
for their dogs' behavior.
- NO cats or other animals are
allowed UNLESS attending with a signed up rescue group and they
must be kept in secure cages and not taken out. Remember with many
dogs – we never know which might not like cats, ferrets, rabbits.
- Make sure your dog is over 4
months old and is current on her shots and has a valid license.
Puppies under 4 months might not have the immune system to ward
off some sicknesses or diseases that older dogs can fight off. NO
sick dogs or dogs with intestinal parasites.
- Do not bring a female dog that is
in heat/season.
- NO FOOD OF ANY KIND IS ALLOWED TO
BE BROUGHT IN TO THE FESTIVAL - Nothing creates chaos faster than
does dogs competing for food. There is a separate food area
(please take extreme care when entering with your dog/s). Please
keep all food in the food court.
- CHILDREN UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE
MUST BE WITHIN ARM'S REACH OF A SUPERVISING ADULT - Make sure you
can take care of every creature you bring into the park. Bring no
more than 2 dogs per ADULT.
- Adults ONLY to restrain dogs.
Please do not allow your young/small children to walk dogs through
the festival – this is DANGEROUS! If you cannot control your dog
DO NOT ENTER! You will be asked to leave.
- Please observe these safety
precautions: Do not allow your child to wildly wave his/her arms
around. Do not allow your child to run and scream. Do not allow
your child to play with toys at the festival. Do not allow your
child to approach or pet a dog without the owner's presence and
permission. While most dogs are curious and friendly, not all dogs
are child-friendly.
- Excessive barking WILL disturb the
surrounding neighbors and might encourage other dogs to become
aggressive. Quiet them or remove them from the festival.
- No giving away, adopting, selling
or promoting the sale/adoption of pets at the event!
- NO Aggressive dogs to people OR
other pets – aggressive pets must be removed immediately. There is
NO tolerance for aggression at this event! Should an issue come
about, please ask for an organizer immediately.
- NO ABUSE, hitting or dominance
from guardian to pet will be acceptable. This event promotes
LOVING your pets not dominating and abusing them. Should this come
about, you face the wrath of the organizers, animal lovers and law
enforcement attending this event!
