Red Carpet Premier of "Shelter Me" Was a Big Hit!
The PBS episode of "Shelter Me" features one of OUR Sterling Shelter dogs that was rescued from the streets of Puerto Rico. His story made it to Hollywood!
For those of you who missed our Red Carpet Shelter Me Premier on October 20th, you can still see it on PBS! Find stations and air times for Shelter Me in your area! The new episode premieres on PBS starting Sunday, October 25th. “Shelter Me: Partners for Life” is hosted by Jon Hamm and features country music icon Emmylou Harris and the incredible work she’s doing to help at-risk youth and homeless pets in her community. There is also a moving segment about fostering pets and a story about law enforcement agencies that recruit shelter dogs for their prestigious K9 units. Shelter Me is an inspiring series that celebrates shelter pets with positive and uplifting stories. .

Would You Like to Help Save Kia? The shelter is still raising money to help Kia. As of today, we have raised $200 towards our goal of $2,500. Please help us reach our goal to help this sweet little girl have a better life without pain. Would you like to help Kia? Donate today using our safe and secure donation SAVING KIA Little Kia came to the shelter through our partnership with "All Sato Rescue" in Puerto Rico. Our staff veterinarian examined her and noticed that her hips didn’t feel right. Off to the Sterling VCA Animal Hospital she went for X-rays. Sadly, we found that Kia has a BROKEN PELVIS! To alleviate her pain, she is going to need FHO surgery. Luckily the orthopedic specialist at the Northboro VCA has offered to do the surgery at a discount, but we need YOUR HELP to raise $2500 to help little Kia. We are currently controlling her pain with medication and have her in a safe, loving foster home until we can raise the money for her surgery. Once her surgery is done and she is able to be adopted, we will post her on our website for adoption. She’s a cute little girl with big eyes and a loving heart. Nikita was donated by our shelter to the Worcester Sheriff's Department and has become one of the top narcotics detection dogs in central New England. Niki is now being featured nationally for his work, and now internationally with a feature in print news articles!
